Bed sheets are usually made from conventionally grown cotton or a blend of cotton and polyester. Cotton is mostly grown in monocultures and requires a large amount of water and pesticides. The WWF estimates that 1 kilogram of cotton requires 20.000 litres of water.
Cotton is grown on 2.5% of the agricultural land worldwide, but it consumes 16 to 25% of the insecticides worldwide, making cotton an environmental hazard.
The pesticides and fertilisers are poisonous, harming the health of workers and eroding the soil. Then it will require more fertilisers in the future, creating a vicious circle.

The bamboo fabric used in the bedsheet is 300 Thread Count. Please note; bamboo Thread Count (TC) and cotton TC can’t be compared. Indeed, the number of TC depends on the shape and the nature of the fiber.
